If the mere mention of critters make you itch and cringe, this article might not be one for you to read.

Apparently the ITN newsroom, which makes ITV and Channel 4 news programmes, has possibly been invaded by fleas, and they're planning to temporarily move employees so they can get it fumigated as a precaution.

According to Radio Times, employees received an email letting them know the newsroom will be fumigated next week.

"Following several reported insect bites, a pest control spray of the newsroom will be carried out next week," the email is reported to read.

"Previous tests have found no evidence of infestation. But as a precaution, fumigation will take place overnight on Tuesday."

While ITN are scratching away the fleas, the BBC have had their own issues since they revealed their top salaries in the first annual report.

Details of anyone earning over £150,000 were revealed, with BBC Radio 2 DJ and former Top Gear star Chris Evans out on top, earning between £2 million to £2.49 million.

Only a third of the names included on the report are women, with the highest paid female employee being named as Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman with £450,000 to £499,000. In comparison, her co-host Tess Daly gets £350k to £400k.

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker is the second highest-paid star, taking home between £1.75m to 1.79m.
