The Greyjoys definitely don't give up easily. Even though Cersei rejected his marriage proposal during their meeting at the Red Keep, King of the Iron Islands Euron Greyjoy promised to return with a truly "priceless gift" that would be sure to win her over in the season's first episode.
Well, Euron was back this week, kicking arse and taking names. He promised to return with a gift to change her mind – and now fans are speculating that anything from a person to a game-changing magical object Cersei could use to put herself in complete control once and for all.
In fact, has it already been claimed? Below, some theories that just might hold the answer – and not all are obvious.
1. Ellaria or the Sand Snakes
As terrible as Cersei might be, no one can say she didn't love her children. During her time in Dorne, Myrcella Lannister, Cersei's only daughter, was poisoned and killed when Ellaria Sand kissed her on the lips. This Reddit user and reader of the A Song of Ice and Fire books believes Ellaria might be exactly the gift Euron has in mind.
With two of the Sand Snakes downed, could Euron return to King's Landing with Ellaria for Cersei to avenge her daughter's death? It would certainly provide some needed closure.
2. Dragonbinder
Some viewers, however, don't think this is good enough for Cersei and want greater shows of affection.
Even though it's yet to make an appearance on the show, Dragonbinder is a powerful magical object in George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels. In A Dance with Dragons, this legendary horn is said to kill anyone who dares blow on it. Carved with red-hot glyphs and set with enchantments, it is also referred to as the hellhorn.
The horn is said to have originally been used by dragonlords. These dragonlords were rulers of the Valyrian Freehold (the Valyrian-ruled land in Essos), who rode and controlled dragons. It is believed that the dragonlords blew on the horn before the Doom — a catastrophe that destroyed the city of Old Valyria and consequently led to the fall of the Valyrian Freehold.
For Euron's purposes, the horn is also said to be able to control dragons and get them to do as you please. One Reddit user believes Euron could be in possession of the horn. If Cersei gets hold of it, she could take the three dragons away from Dany and turn them into weapons for the Lannister army.
Still, the horn itself has yet to be mentioned at all in the show, leaving fans skeptical that such a powerful object could make a sudden appearance. A definite game changer, the Dragonbinder could wreak havoc on Dany's army and all of King's Landing in general. Even if Euron is able to get his hands on it somehow, it doesn't sound like the kind of weapon we want in Cersei's hands right now.
3. Tyrion Lannister
Reddit user oosajee speculates that Euron will bring Cersei her own brother, Tyrion. In Cersei's mind, Tyrion is not family, but an enemy who got away. To her, he is responsible for the death of her son and her father, which makes him the perfect target for revenge.
Hand to Queen Daenerys, Tyrion is perhaps the most important person to the Targaryen heir at this point. He is with her day and night, protected by Grey Worm and the rest of the Unsullied.
If Euron is somehow able to kidnap Tyrion, Cersei would have the opportunity to torture her brother while putting her greatest competitor at a huge disadvantage. Without Tyrion, it's uncertain whether Dany is even capable of taking down Cersei.
4. Brightroar
While Euron's gift could be anything, one Reddit user believes a certain mystical sword might work in his favour to win Cersei over. Brightroar is a legendary sword that has long meant a great deal to House Lannister. It was originally lost when King of the Rock Tommen II Lannister carried it with him as he sailed to plunder the wealth of ruined Valyria following the Doom.
The sword particularly meant very much to Cersei's father Tywin Lannister, who was known to have made several unsuccessful attempts to purchase replicas of the sword. There's little evidence Euron would have access to such a sword or would even know where to begin searching for it, but A Feast for Crows explains that he did spend time in Old Valyria during his time in exile prior to his Season 6 introduction.
If this holds true for the show as it did in the books, it's possible this ancestral blade might be the key to making Euron the new King of the Seven Kingdoms.
5. The Horn of Joramun
Forget about Dragonbinder, this Reddit user and fan of the show and books believes a completely different horn will make an appearance in Season 7. Also known as the Horn of Winter, the Horn of Joramun was said to have belonged to a king beyond the wall, who blew the horn and woke giants from the earth.
The Free Folk are said to believe that blowing the horn might bring down the wall, though its existence is sometimes debated by maesters. The Horn of Joramun is said to be black with gold bands and engraved by the First Men. Reddit user Patty McCaw thinks it's possible Euron wants to give Cersei the horn so she can bring down the wall and unleash the White Walkers on Dany's army.
It might seem a little far-fetched, but Cersei has been pushed to her limits over the last six seasons, and setting a bunch of frozen zombies onto her enemies doesn't sound like something she'd be saying no to.
It's safe to say if the gift is anything from the above list, Game of Thrones season 7 is going to be a lot more interesting than we thought.
