Warning – Game of Thrones season 7 spoilers are coming.

Monday's episode of Game of Thrones culminated in a rather large and harrowing battle at sea, but let's not forget Ser Jorah Mormont's moving / gruesome scenes...

In the Citadel, Jorah was told by Jim Broadbent's Archmaester Ebrose that his greyscale couldn't be cured and that he was going to be sent to old Valyria to live out his days with the stone men.

Before Sam decided he (of all people) could cure Jorah by cutting his affected skin off and applying an ointment, Jorah wrote a farewell letter to Daenerys (aka Khaleesi).

The official Game of Thrones Twitter account has since released a picture of Jorah's letter, and here's the text in full:

"Khaleesi,

"I came to the Citadel in the last hope that the maesters could treat me, as you ordered. Even with all their arts, I am beyond any cure but the grave.

"I have had a longer life than I deserved, and I only wish I could've lived to see the world you're going to build, standing by your side. I have loved you since the moment I met you."

And if you're interested in the text of the letter Tyrion sent to Jon Snow inviting him to meet Daenerys at Dragonstone, it's as follows (via HBO's website):

"Queen Daenerys Targaryen, First of Her Name, invites you to Dragonstone. My queen commands the combined forces of Dorne and the Reach, an Ironborn fleet, legions of Unsullied, a Dothraki horde and three dragons.

"The Seven Kingdoms will bleed as long as Cersei sits on the Iron Throne. Join us. Together we can end her tyranny. I appeal to you, one bastard to another, for all dwarves are bastards in their fathers' eyes.

"Tyrion Lannister, Hand of the Queen."
