Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 3 'The Queen's Justice'.

The impending doom quota was upped this week in an episode that was perhaps light on action but heavy on major developments. Here are the biggest questions and theories from 'The Queen's Justice'…

1. Olenna's farewell could put Tyrion out of harm's way

But knowing Cersei, it won't. Olenna Tyrell went out valiantly after Lannister troops stormed her pad. But before biting the dust, she made sure that Jaime knew exactly who killed his beloved "c**t" son Joffrey: herself.

In doing this, Jaime (and thus Cersei, if he tells her) finally know for sure that their little brother Tyrion was not Joffrey's killer. You'd think that would mean that she would no longer desperately want Tyrion dead, but... yeah, maybe not.

2. Is that the end of the Dorne lot?

GoT fans have never been that fond of the folks from Dorne (well, apart from Oberyn). After Euron captured Ellaria and Tyene last week, we wondered what their fate would be once Cersei got her hands on them.

In revenge against Ellaria for killing her daughter Myrcella with a poisonous kiss, Cersei did the same to her daughter Tyene. But this time, she made the punishment even worse by forcing her to watch her child slowly die in front of her while not being able to even touch her. Brutal.

But is this the end for them both? There's clearly a cure for the poison, but are they important enough to warrant it? Their story isn't necessarily over, but we wouldn't be surprised if the next time we see them is as skeletons in chains.

Either way, with House Tyrell most likely extinct, and with House Martell all but dead, Daenerys is losing allies, and fast.

3. No more secrets for Cersei and Jaime

After six seasons of Cersei and Jaime hiding their incestuous love, this week marked the first time that they openly shared their forbidden secret.

Cersei and Jaime know that pretty much everyone in Westeros knows about it, and now that she's Queen and lost all her children, she's thinking "f**k it".

The only obstacle is likely to be Euron, which leads us to...

4. Forget Cleganebowl, it's all about Jaime vs Euron

Both times that Euron has met Jaime, he's made it clear that he not only knows Jaime's dodgy love for Cersei, but that he has no issue with getting in between them.

Before, he probably thought he could get away with all manner of naughty phrases to piss off Jaime about the woman he loves, as a) it's a secret he didn't want to be made official and b) Cersei needs his backing.

But now that Cersei doesn't seem to care that people know about her and Jaime, maybe Jaime won't take his jibes so easy from now on. If Euron's plans to wed Cersei come to fruition, then it surely won't be long before Jaime has enough of Euron's crap.

5. What will Euron do to Yara?

While it was clear what Euron planned to do with the Sands, it remains somewhat unclear what he hopes to do with his niece.

There's nothing obvious that Cersei would want from her, and Euron made it clear to Theon that he had no qualms about killing her himself, so what use is she right now?

Either he hopes to convince her to join his fold, or more likely, is keeping her as a toy to play with. If he followed Pyke convention, Yara will be laid on an Iron Islands beach at low tide, arms and legs chained, in order to meet her death by drowning. That's probably too nice for Euron.

6. Bran's seen too much

We think the point of Bran's bizarre behaviour this week was to show just how much he has seen, now that he has become the Three-Eyed Raven. But in doing so, he's become that weird family member that everyone is creeped out by.

His reunion with Sansa was rather underwhelming because of this, and then he proceeded to essentially tell her that he saw her being raped by Ramsay a while back.

This is to explain that – while that was a dreadful thing to happen to his sister, and he is pleased to see her – there are far more pressing matters at hand right now. Nice.

Sansa also made sure to mention that he is the next true male Stark alive. Is this foreshadowing a potential shift in command once everyone discovers that Jon is actually half-Targaryen?

7. Will Jon really just let them squabble it out?

Tyrion's sage advice has seemingly led Daenerys to allow Jon to mine as much dragonglass as he needs, in the hopes that her help will precipitate a future alliance, and him to bend the knee.

As he said himself, he has no time to focus on the Iron Throne right now, what with the White Walkers on the way. But will Daenerys really allow him to head back to the North when she desperately needs allies to combat Cersei?

Perhaps she will at least ask Jon to provide some firepower in the form of wildlings or one of his bannermen's houses?

8. Where will the Lannisters get the money from for the Iron Bank?

A Lannister always pays his (or her) debts, but where will they get the cash? Mark Gatiss's Iron Banker is not too fond of late payments.

By deciding to sacrifice Casterly Rock and seizing Highgarden, they now have control of the wealthy House Tyrell. Surely their vaults will have enough to convince the Iron Bank to back Cersei's horse in the race to the Iron Throne?

9. What does Melisandre know about Varys's death?

We know that Melisandre has a chequered history when it comes to predicting the future. But she also resurrected a man from the dead.

When Varys asked her why she hadn't greeted Jon and Davos, she explained that she's heading to Volantis, but will return to Westeros "one last time" because she "has to die in this strange country".

She then added, "The same as you," giving Varys a knowing look. Does she actually know how Varys is meant to die, or is she just being a dick? Something fishy's going on.

10. Will Jorah and Sam help form a Jon/Daenerys alliance?

Now that Sam has casually saved Jorah's life by ridding him of his greyscale, he clearly owes him big time.

With Jorah heading off to reunite with the queen of dragons, it surely won't be long before there's a reason to "cross paths" with Tarly once more. With Sam having such a big influence on Jon, there's bound to be a reunion for them all.

Also, something tells us that Jim Broadbent has left Sam some particular old parchments to clean up for a reason.
