Since the release of the latest season of Black Mirror we have freely offered our exact location at all times via Snapchat, had our Samsung devices explode on us and, worst of all, cheerily accepted that Apple removing the headphone jack is a good thing.

It's time for a reminder that technology is awful.

Luckily, a fourth run of the bleak satirical drama is in the works, and Charlie Brooker has been chatting about how the upcoming episodes could be less self-contained than before.

Speaking to ScreenDaily last month, Brooker said: "I'm doing something at the moment that could, depending on whether it makes it to the final version, tie a few threads together."

Don't take that as gospel though, as Brooker joked: "The less we say, the more we reserve the right to completely re-edit and change everything."

He added: "We did a lot of different genre pieces in the last season and we're doing the same again this year, but we're also tackling style and tones that we haven't done before."

Brooker recently spoke about the potential for sequel episodes, and hinted that season two's 'White Bear' (the one where Being Human's Lenora Crichlow is chased through the woods) could be getting a follow-up.

Black Mirror will return to Netflix in 2018.
