The first full trailer for season three just landed, and while Elliot's (obviously) recovered from his bullet wound, things still aren't looking great for the FSociety gang. As Leonard Cohen's 'Democracy' plays, chaos reigns on the streets of New York, Tyrell and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) both appear to be losing it, and Bobby Cannavale's new character makes an appearance flanked by a couple of masked Dark Army footsoliders. Along with the new trailer comes a confirmed premiere date – October 11 on USA.

And if you're eager to find out how Mr Robot – which has featured plenty of commentary on real-world figures – will tackle the Trump administration, keep in mind that the show is not happening in real time. The show picks up close to its real-world premiere date in 2015, and its first two seasons have only covered a few months. In other words, bleak and nihilistic though Mr Robot's post-hack world is, it's still a world in which Barack Obama is president.
