It turns out that HBO doesn't have to just look out for hackers when it comes to Game of Thrones season seven leaks, they're even playing themselves.

In a massive error, HBO Spain seems to have broadcast episode six 'Death Is my Enemy' five days ahead of its official release, with the episode reportedly also available on-demand for subscribers before being removed.

Who had a huge weekend and didn't check what they were uploading, then?

As pointed out on Reddit though, that was more than enough time for it to be ripped and shared, so the internet will be full of even more spoilers than usual today.

Footage has also appeared on YouTube, Instagram and other streaming services, so maybe just don't search Game of Thrones today, unless you're a misanthropic sort.

Weirdly, it's not even the first time that HBO has leaked an episode of its hit series as last year, season six's 'The Door' was accidentally released 24 hours before it was due to air by HBO Nordic.

Last week, the HBO hackers released a Game of Thrones episode synopsis that was illegally obtained from the 1.5 terabytes of data that the hackers have allegedly stolen, alongside executive emails and purported casting information.

Earlier this week, unrelated to the HBO hack, four people were arrested in India after being accused of leaking 'The Spoils of War'.

The fourth episode of season seven showed up online two days before its HBO debut after a digital copy was stolen from international broadcaster Star India, with the company immediately launching an investigation with Mumbai police.

Enemies to the east, enemies to the west...etc etc.
