Mitchell and Webb are back together playing actual brothers in the first trailer for Channel 4's new sitcom Back.

The hilarious trailer gives us glimpses of the moment that Stephen (David Mitchell) realises he has a foster brother, Andrew (Robert Webb), at the funeral of his father, leading to Stephen becoming convinced that Andrew is out to steal his life.

But a joyous bunk bed shot at the end of the trailer hints they won't always be at each other's throats.

preview for Back, starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb - TRAILER

Andrew is Stephen's parents' "favourite foster child" and he returns to town after years of travelling, to revisit the family that he thinks changed his life – and his comeback leads to some tantrums from Stephen, who has taken over his late father's pub.

But as Sherlock's Louise Brealey brutally puts it as Stephen's sister Cass: "No offence Stephen, but who'd want to steal your life?"

As well as being a reunion of the two Peep Show stars, Back is created by Simon Blackwell – who also worked as a writer on Peep Show – so big things are expected of their new outing.

Blackwell also previously wrote for The Thick of It and The Armstrong & Miller Show.

Back also stars Penny Downie as Stephen's mother Ellen and Geoffrey McGivern as Uncle Geoff.

No premiere date has yet been set by Channel 4.
