Last night's season seven finale of Game of Thrones gave viewers the scene they'd been waiting for when King of the North Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) finally gave into all those soulful, intense stares they've been giving each other all season and did something about it.

But of course, as this is Game of Thrones, nothing is ever that easy – and the twist Jon and Dany have coming their way is a doozy: Jon's true lineage was finally confirmed as Aegon Targaryen; Dany's nephew.

The reveal could be something from a Westeros-located Jeremy Kyle episode, but how do the two actors involved think their characters will react when all is revealed in the eighth (and final) season.

"Ewwwww!" Emilia told Entertainment Weekly. "I think that's how it's going to go. I get the toothbrush..."

Incest is hardly a new trope on Game of Thrones, where most people are bedding their siblings/cousins and even Dany's parents also happened to be brother and sister... but it was a fate Dany had thought she'd managed to dodge herself.

"And then I walked back into it," Emilia added.

The big reveal that everyone saw coming confirmed that Jon's true father is Rhaegar Targaryen, which means Jon has a strong claim to the Iron Throne – more so than Daenerys herself, which could pose a problem for the pair of them.

"I've worked so hard, I don't want to share that throne," Emilia continued. "No. The throne's big enough for one dragon bum, and that's mine. That's it!"

Harington also weighed in on the characters' newfound connection and what it means for Jon and Dany going forward.

"I said to Emilia it's going to be a really cool scene when they find out," he said, adding that he doesn't know how it will impact their relationship.

"That part of it, I can't predict," he said. "It could be them walking off into the sunset. It could be them killing each other."

Regardless of their unconventional relationship, Emilia was all for the characters giving into their passion for one another, while Kit was a bit more caught up it he acting of it all.

"I love that when we get to the saucy stuff it's a beautiful acceptance of a wordless … yep," she said.

"Usually you go into a movie and meet [your costar] for the first time and you develop that chemistry over that time," Kit added.

"But if you've known somebody for seven years and shared this incredible journey in your own lives together… we're both kind of freaking out about it. I would be like, 'What's the sexual tension in this scene?' and she's like, 'Stop talking about sexual tension!'

"It's a unique experience to be in as an actor and you know the world is watching."

Game of Thrones will be back for an eighth and final season, probably in 2019.
