When George Michael died in December of last year, the iconic singer was hard at work on what would become his final project: a first-person documentary about his own life.

George Michael: Freedom, which premieres on Showtime 21 October, includes narration from the singer himself following his entire career, along with his lengthy battle with Sony Music. The documentary focuses specifically on the period before and after the release of his sophomore album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1., when he was struggling with the success of his 1987 debut, Faith.

The documentary features interviews with Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Mark Ronson, Mary J. Blige, Liam Gallagher, and supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Tatjana Patitz, who were in the "Freedom '90" music video.
