Now's a great time to be a movie adaptation of a Stephen King novel: It just surpassed The Exorcist to become the highest-grossing horror film in American history. Netflix is striking while the iron's still smoking, releasing its adaptation of Gerald's Game, out September 29th, and 1922, streaming October 20th, in quick succession.
The film, based on a novella the of same name that appeared in King's 2010 collection Full Dark, No Stars, features Thomas Jane as a farmer who murders his wife in the titular year and is deservedly very, very haunted. The trailer looks absolutely terrifying, and definitely isn't for anyone who has a phobia of rats.
