When it comes to Game of Thrones, HBO has been about as leak-proof as a sieve, but it seems that the network is going to extreme lengths to keep the secrets of its highest-rated show's final season from hitting the web.

According the The Associated Press, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the actor who plays Jaime Lannister, talked about HBO's latest leak-busting security techniques during an interview:

It's very secret now. I don't know if you heard there was a big hack, HBO was hacked. You know, the first season we got the scripts like you should get them... have the script and then you could sit and do notes and stuff. And then after a couple years they got paranoid because there were some leaks so we had to get them only digital, PDF files. And then that got a little worse, so they had to do these verified emails, like you had to go through all these things to get your script and it was watermarked all kinds of ways so if you lost it, you would be sent to prison— no. [Laughs] And then the hack happened, so now we're not even going to get the script. Now we're going to do a scene, we will be told what's going to happen… we're all going to have earpieces for the scene, and then someone's going to tell you the line and you're going to do the line.

This definitely seems like an effective leak preventer, but not a recipe for great acting. But we were never watching the show for Kit Harrington's tour de force performances anyway.

There's also a chance that Coster-Waldau was just fooling around: Liam Cunningham, who plays Her Davos Seaworth, mentioned the cast's scheduled table reads at Comic Con, which suggests they'll get to spend at least some time with the season 8 script.
