Black Mirror's latest season four trailer raises rather disturbing questions about whether the memories we hold dear are ever truly accurate.

The latest sneak peek is for the season opener 'Crocodile', which is seemingly a thriller that centres on a technical innovation that can capture our memories in visual form.

It's a theme that the show previously tackled in the Jodie Whittaker-starring 2011 episode 'The Entire History of You', only this time the premise is much more sinister. Watch the trailer below:

Keeping in mind that Charlie Brooker might be trying to deliberately deceive viewers with these sneak peeks, it seems as if 'Crocodile' is a psychological thriller about a doctor (Kiran Sonia Sawar) trying to help a patient dredge up memories of a fateful car accident.

"Memories can be subjective," the doctor explains. "They may not be totally accurate and they're often emotional."

'Crocodile' will also feature Bloodline's Andrea Riseborough and Outlander star Andrew Gower, under the direction of Triple 9's John Hillcoat.

It definitely carries over the menacing vibe of the recently-released teaser for 'Arkangel', which looks to be about technological experiments being conducted on children.

What neither trailer includes is a release date, meaning that Charlie Brooker and Netflix are continuing to keep fans guessing about when Black Mirror season 4 will finally arrive.
