Jessica Jones is one of Netflix's best Marvel Comics series, so the more than two year wait between its first and second seasons has been tough.

We've had pure dreck like Iron Fist and awesome shows like Luke Cage, but Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones was one of the first and one of the greats. And thankfully, the ex-superhero turned private investigator is back, kicking down doors and tossing guys through windows to a soundtrack of Heart's "Barracuda."

After a year like 2017, we're all very ready for the return of a hero who brought to the small screen an honest and complicated portrayal of someone who's experienced sexual assault and trauma. And this season, every episode will be directed by a woman.
