It wasn't too long ago that season three of Stranger Things was (unsurprisingly) confirmed by Netflix, so now all we have to do is wait – and for quite a long time.

It appears that good things come to those who wait, and Stranger Things come to those who wait even longer. (See what we did there?)

Because David Harbour – aka Chief Hopper – has revealed to Variety that the show's creators the Duffer brothers probably won't have scripts ready until 2019. For the love of Steve!

"I mean, one of the things that's annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them," he admitted. "Like, you probably won't get [season three] until sometime in 2019."

Of course, David is entirely convinced that the wait, no matter how long, will be worth it – and that the Duffer brothers will be getting through the third season as quickly as possible.

"Like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day," he revealed.

Fortunately for fans, the brothers are going to carry on writing their lives away for at least one more season, if not more.

Producer Shawn Levy recently admitted that Netflix was 'heartbroken' when the series was pitched to end after four seasons.

"The truth is we're definitely going four seasons and there's very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes, I think, very unlikely."

Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix right now.
