There was mixed reviews when Top Gear aired it's first episode without Jeremy Clarkson.

The new series, hosted by Chris Evans and Friends star Matt LeBlanc, aired with the lowest audience in a decade. Fans went on Twitter to vent their anger.

Amongst the Twitter rants there were a few optimistic Tweets, hoping the show will get better.

And host Chris Evans thought it went well, despite critics bashing the show.

To be fair Top Gear was still the most-watched show in the 8pm time slot, beating Antiques Roadshow on BBC One and British Soap Awards on ITV. Will it get better? We await next week's episode.
