If you ever needed proof that the world is a cruel and unjust place, just take a look at the long list of game-changing TV shows that have been prematurely snuffed by axe-happy US networks.
Futurama, Arrested Development, Firefly and, of course, the one that we're still struggling to suppress our rage over: Deadwood, David Milch's critically-acclaimed western drama that was never gifted a proper ending,
So praise be that the HBO big dogs have finally recognised their mistake.
Speaking at an awards show last night, HBO's new head of programming Casey Bloys decided to conform rumours of a long-awaited Deadwood movie.
Bloys stated that "David is writing the script. We haven't read it yet…I imagine it will be very good," adding that he "feels good" about the project.
No word yet on how long there is to wait, so let's just watch that incredible opening scene on repeat until it happens, yeah?
