The big success story comes from the show that everyone in your office can't stop talking about (for good reason, it's really, really good), Stranger Things, with 8.2 million people watching it in its first 16 days of release.

In response to why the streaming giants keep their viewing cards so close to their chest, Netflix's chief executive Reed Hastings told The Guardian that "it's competitive information. It tells HBO what kind of shows to produce.

"Because we don't have advertising chopping up the content, we are under a whole different model where we get the freedom to not compare all the shows and rank all the shows. Because it kind of doesn't matter what everyone else loves the most, it matters what you or I love the most."
