Here Are The First Images Of J.K Simmons As Commissioner Gordon

Make Gotham great again?

After the cinematic train wrecks that were Batman v Superman and Suicide SquadWarner Bros and DC Comics are hoping to avoid a hattrick of duds by drafting in Oscar winner J.K Simmons to play the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon in the upcoming Justice League film.

To celebrate Batman day (that's a thing), director Zack Snyder shared the first image of the new Commissioner looking out for Batman, who will continue to be played by Ben Affleck.

Ben Affleck's Batman and J.K Simmons' Gordon will join a big name cast that also includes Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Ezra Miller's Flash and Ray Fisher's Cyborg.

Snyder's last film, Batman v Superman was a ratings flop (27% on Rotten Tomatoes), but still managed to rake in £595 million worldwide.

Hopefully Justice League, which is out 17 November 2017, will manage to actually be watchable.
