In addition to appearing in character as President Frank Underwood whilst hosting the Tony Awards last night, actor Kevin Spacey also poked fun at rumours around his sexuality.
The 57-year-old appeared in a dress and started to perform the song "I'm coming out" before stopping himself.
He also appeared in a skit with Whoopi Goldberg at the start of the awards where she came out of a closet whilst Kevin performed. He asked, "Whoopi, how long have you been in that closet?" to which she responded, "Well Kevin, it depends on who you ask."
The jokes about his sexuality are a stark contrast to his strong comments about those who speculate on his personal life. He previously criticised those who "gossip" about his sexuality in a 2007 interview saying: "I just happen to believe that there's a public life and there's a private life. Everybody has a right to a private life no matter what their profession is."
