Sure, reunions and dramatic death scenes are great, but it was about time that Game of Thrones got back to what it's really famous for: gratuitous sex scenes.

And the latest episode, 'Stormborn' didn't disappoint with two steamy moments, one of which was a passionate kiss between Yara Greyjoy and Illaria Sand.

Whilst the scene looked naturally executed, it has now transpired that the moment was totally improvised by actors Gemma Whelan and Indira Varma.

"It wasn't directed that we would kiss," Gemma revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "It just seemed like something we should do. We led it, very much so.

"It was meant to be a suggestion [of flirting] and then it became more sexual than we expected because it seemed right."

Admitting that the two were 'left on their own' during filming, Gemma added: "And who wouldn't want to kiss Indira? I mean, come on!"

Yara's sexuality was previously teased at when she kissed another woman in a tavern whilst with her brother Theon.

Of course, Thrones being Thrones, that wasn't the only sensual moment of the episode – Missandei and Grey Worm also had an X-rated moment.

Opening up about her character's nude scene, Nathalie Emmanuel said she used her nervous "energy" while shooting.

"It sort of helps the scene to actually feel very vulnerable and exposed," she explained.
