This Is How 'Game Of Thrones' Actors Know They're Being Killed Off

Harsh. Very harsh

*BIG, HONKING, WEEK-RUINING SPOILERS AHEAD*

Given the amount of untimely deaths that have struck down so many key Game of Thrones characters, it's understandable that the show's actors feel paranoid come script-reading time.

But when do they find out? Actress Jessica Henwick, who's character Nymeria Sand was slain in the latest episode by Euron Greyjoy, has spoken to Entertainment Weekly about the moment she knew her time was up.

"I was in New York filming Iron Fist and I got a call from [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss], the double Ds," Henwick told EW. "As soon as you hear that more than one of them is on the call you know what that means. If it's just one they're probably talking about the story. But if it's both of them then you know."

Benioff and Weiss both explained her character's death was integral to the plot.

"It's really important that you come back," they told her. "Otherwise your character will just disappear and fans will never get a resolution."

Henwick explained: "The show was so massive for me in terms of my career and building my profile and as an experience in itself, I wanted to see it through to the end."

The grisly end, it turns out.
