Good news for fans of Birmingham's first family; Cillian Murphy has confirmed that after much speculation, Peaky Blinders season 4 is set to return to our screens sooner rather than later.

"I think it will be the best (season). It's pretty powerful, we've got lots of surprises. It's soon, it's November I think," the actor said, speaking at the premiere of his new film The Party.

So far, we've had one (pretty amazing) trailer, and a brief synopsis that promises Season 4 will kick off when Tommy receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve. We also know that Oscar winner Adrien Brody is on board as a leader of Italian-American gangsters muscling in on Tommy's turf, and that Littlefinger himself, Adian Gillen has joined the cast as "hard-nut gypsy" Aberama Gold.

Best of all, the season looks set to see a return to the streets of Birmingham, with Tommy fleeing his country house and returning to Small Heath as a new threat grows.

All of which means we're almost guaranteed to see Tommy smoking, drinking, fighting and swearing his way through six great episodes.

But there's one thing we've never seen Tommy do, and in a recent interview with World Screen, Murphy confirmed it.

"It seems like he never sleeps or eats. In fact, over the whole four seasons so far, we never see Tom Shelby eat; a morsel never enters his mouth! He is all-consuming and obviously the nature of television—being that you are shooting so many episodes and so many setups per day and you have so many lines to learn—means that it does take over your life, but in a brilliant way. It's what every actor would want."

You'd think Alfie Solomons would have passed him the odd slice of bread, right? Either way, here's another look at that Season 4 trailer to whet your appetite...
