The Blue Bar at the Berkley, London

Encompassing a brand new glass extension at the front of the Berkley, the Blue Bar is for bon vivants who want the quality of a high-end cocktail bar with a dose of laid-back cheer.

The interior is, as the name suggests, blue - with crocodile-print leather floors and a white onyx bar that encourages and attracts a lively crowd from around the city seven days a week.

In theme with the colourful surrounding, drinks are marked as either green, yellow, red or blue - each signifying a different strength of alcohol content, while the bar also carries more than 50 world class whiskies.

OZONE at The Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong

The highest hotel in the whole world, The Ritz Carlton's Hong Kong rooftop bar stands a mighty 1,608 feet above sea level, offering an ideal spot to take in the iridescent bustle of the great city below.

Both a bar and nightspot, OZONE has been designed with a clean, ethereal décor in mind and a subtle blue neon hue that makes it feel like an extension of the night sky.

While the view is spectacular, when it comes to choosing a drink look for the bar's signature gin menu. The Kowloon Gin Tonic, featuring tea essence and grapefruit zest, is a particular crowd pleaser.

Le Bar at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris

The Four Seasons in Paris sits right on the Champs-Élysées and has been serving well-heeled travellers and Parisians since 1928. While the hotel's bar is simply called 'Le Bar' there's nothing simple about it once you head inside.

Prepare to be greeted by exquisite staff in a space that is adorned in red velvet, crystal chandeliers, silver and impressive vaunted ceilings.

Of course, this beng Paris, the Champagne list is very good, but if you're looking for a crisp pre-dinner cocktail then try the Bye Bye Baby, consisting of fresh lime juice, natural raspberry vodka and a hint of sugar.

Situated in a converted warehouse in the Porto Madero district of the city, the upmarket Faena Hotel is also home to chic rooftop pool bar that creates a chilled haven in one of South America's most dynamic cities.

Surrounded by red sun loungers and umbrellas, the centrepiece is a giant crown that doubles as a fountain and spectacularly dominates the centre of the pool.
