Now a fixture in our autumn diaries, the Grey Goose Character & Cocktails party in benefit of The Elton John AIDS Foundation is back. This year - for the first time - the legendary fundraiser will be opening its doors to the general public so we can rub shoulders with the A-listers and sup new vodka-based creations from the capital’s leading bartenders (Tony Conigliaro, Allessandra Palazzi et al).
Past events have brought together designer/celeb collaborations (such as Patrick Cox and Elizabeth Hurley) to produce incredible bars, which are then auctioned off for charity during the evening (in 2008, our clear favourite was the Dinos Chapman’s remodeled working ice-cream van).
This year, in addition to the back-catalogue of bars on show, there will be a new installation from Roland Mouret – the ‘Origami Bar’, which will be serving up the green tea-inspired ‘Miracle’ cocktail. If past GG drinking experiences are anything to go by, it should be a triumph.
