Spreading its wings

Spreading its wings

Grey Goose vodka needs little introduction — its distinctive taste has long been a key ingredient in our cocktail repertoire. But, interestingly, we’ve noticed that the brand has been ruffling its feathers of late: a new signature drink has been released, massive advertising campaigns are planned and we recently went to an extraordinary production GG commissioned from theatre company PunchDrunk (suffice to say it involved being blindfolded and kissed by girls).

It’s not just the latter that caught our attention. The new cocktail – Le Fizz – is equally exciting. Served in elegant champagne flutes, this is sophisticated (and – you’ve been warned – easy) drinking. Its beauty lies in its simplicity: a combination of GG (35ml), elderflower cordial (15ml) and lime juice (15ml) topped with soda to add a little sparkle. Le Fizz is easy enough to mix at home for parties, though if you want to see how the professionals do it, it’s just made the grade for the list at The Savoy's newly opened Beaufort Rooms.
