With words by wine expert Alain Stella and luxurious photographs courtesy of Francis Hammond, French Wine Châteaux is an oenophile’s dream come true.
No-one does champagne quite like the French. In fact, legally speaking, no-one does champagne except the French, and LVMH's grand Champagne houses - including Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon and Krug are all represented in this lovingly-curated tome, alongside the châteaux of many highly regarded non-sparkling wines.
It's an exercise in luxury - the vineyards pride themselves on their hospitality, and visitors to the estate are often served a meal by the château’s in-house chef.
The book is no replacement for the experience of visiting, then, but at least it might distract guests if you ever find yourself having to serve Blue Nun at dinner.
