The UK's favourite pizza topping has been revealed and the most popular ingredient is not what you think.
According to a new poll by YouGov, pepperoni can move right over because mushroom pizza is now the nation's most-liked.
The survey of 3,683 adults found that 65% preferred the fleshy fungus, with onion (62%), ham (61%), peppers (60%), chicken (56%), pepperoni (56%) and tomato all following closely behind.
After Iceland's president, Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson, recently joked that pineapple should be banned from pizzas, the fruit proved to be a hit with those surveyed. 53% said that they approve of the topping, which ranks only fifth in the list of toppings people would like to see outlawed. Over a third said they would ban anchovies if they could, with olives and tuna ranked in second and third place on the 'toppings you would most like get rid of' list.
Pizza preferences were found to differ between men and women, too. Men are much more likely than women to like meat, chillies and jalapenos on their pizza, while women favour healthy options like spinach.
Of course, these results have proved to be divisive on Twitter.
Just another reminder that the politics of pizza is highly controversial.
