The end of expensive bottled water

Recently, here at Esquire, we were sent several crates of expensive water from a well-known bottled water brand. Within days, over 40 plastic bottles - which, as we all know, take a good 1,000 years to decompose - were overflowing from the office bin. A sorry sight indeed.

Praise then, for the latest innovation to hit the halls of Harvey Nichols. "Bobble", designed by the ubiquitous Karim Rashid, features a specially designed filter which removes all chlorine and other unpleasant impurities from tap water.

Unlike other water filters, which all seem to resemble 1908s air conditioning units, Bobble's carbon filter design is sleek and unobtrusive - and what's more, the renewable filter is interchangeable between each of Bobble's three bottle sizes.

Available in 385 ml, 500 ml and 1 litre sizes from Harvey Nichols from December 1, prices start at £8.95. www.waterbobble.com
