Win her round with high tea

If, in light of our previous post, you find yourself confined to the sofa this weekend (actually, scrap that, it’s the football, the sofa’s fine - next weekend) then this may be your best route back into bed.

Ruinart, the world’s oldest champagne house, has teamed up with fragrance company, Miller Harris, to provide a ‘sensory tea’ experience at each of the West End’s four Firmdale hotels – including The Soho, Haymarket, Charlotte Street and Covent Garden.

Complete with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs champagne, a pot of tea created by perfumer Lyn Harris and an array of cakes, sandwiches and calorific fancies prepared by the Firmdale chefs, a spot of tea on a rainy summer afternoon will no doubt win (and make) her round.

While tea and cakes are always welcome – the Thé Bergamot with a raspberry tartlet made for a winning, if flouncy, combination – the fizz, chosen for its delicate notes of white peach and citrus, is the undoubted star of the show.
