Domaine Cordier is a reliable name to look out for, and its Terroir de Charnay is a satisfying drop: crisp and elegant, it combines characteristic flavours of nuts and butter with fresh citrus. It would be a great bottle to open when entertaining en masse as - like putting Air's Moon Safari on the playlist - it satisfies without stealing the show. £9.99 at Majestic Wines (www.majestic.co.uk)
