Heath Ledger's fishy legacy

That Heath Ledger tragically died while filming Terry Gilliam's forthcoming fantasy film, The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, is well known, as are the continuity problems this caused the director (look out for a full review in the November issue of Esquire, on sale 8 October). However, it wasn't the only creative project the actor was working on that was cut short.

Ledger was also formulating a concept for the video to accompany Modest Mouse's single, "King Rat", after meeting lead singer Isaac Brock in Australia three years ago. It was to highlight the illegal whale hunting being carried out off the Australian coast with proceeds from sales of the video going to a conservation charity. After Ledger's death, Daniel Auber took over the directing duties, and the result - a sketchy, jaunty Moby Dick's revenge - is a fittingly dark and intriguing tribute.
