Three Takes On The Beer Cocktail From Three of London's Top Barmen

We've noticed that beer cocktails are popping up on bar and restaurant menus all over the place, including Hawksmoor, Oskar’s at Dabbous and Meat Liquor. Not convinced? Before you write them off forever, give one of these three variations a go at home, sourced from the barmen who created them.


1 Largarita

35ml Tequila
25ml fresh Lime Juice
20ml Cointreau
25ml Sugar Syrup

Blend all ingredients, pour into a highball glass and top with 65ml Pale ale.

2 Shaky Pete’s Ginger Brew

50ml homemade ginger syrup
50ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
35ml good gin, such as Beefeater
100ml London Pride ale

In a blender, blitz the ginger syrup, lemon juice, gin and half a cup of cubed ice. Strain through a coarse sieve into a frozen beer mug and top with London Pride.

3 Giddy Up

25ml Tapatio Blanco
10ml Elderflower cordial
25ml Bramley and Gage Slider
10ml Lemon juice
20ml Chamomile infused acacia honey

Shake and strain, top with Sierra Nevada IPA and pour into a pint pewter tankard.
