Ok, so the London burger thing is now out of control. We all know this. It’s hard to nip out to post a letter in Soho without returning from a newly-opened burger joint with some dripping variation of red mince in a bun.
Perhaps the safest course of action is to find some respite in a place where red meat isn’t even an option.
Clockjack Oven has opened as a chicken-only haven, doing a very nice line in fast and simple chicken classics cooked with a touch of individual flair – highlights including rotisserie, buttermilk-marinated fried chicken bites and some fairly memorable side gravies.
This month the Clockjack Chicken Burger has arrived. Constructed of buttermilk-marinated free-range chicken thigh, served crunchily crisp, topped with jalapeno peppers and salsa for a little punch, and served in a soft bun, it’s the ideal way to get through our self-imposed beef burger ban.
