Instead it’s more contemplative, intimate place. And if it’s contemplation you’re looking for, get there early (it opens at 5pm daily) and take a seat to the left of the bar where there’s a well-stocked selection of drinking-related books on the shelves: Michael Jackson’s beer guides, Steve Rushin’s “The Pint Man” and Salvatore Calabrese’s “Cognac.
