Just Opened: Ramusake Members' Club

Japanese cuisine meets nightlife done right in West London

You may not be familiar with the name Piers Adam, but chances are you'll have enjoyed more than a few late nights (and early mornings) at the London nightlife hotspots he's put his name to, notably Mahiki, Bodo’s Schloss and Whisky Mist.

Along with ex-Nobu head chef and current Kurobuta owner Scott Hallsworth, Adam is bringing the goodtimes to West Kensington, with his latest venture, member's club, bar and restaurant, Ramusake.

Combining the underground feel of the New York East Village speakeasy, with the casual flavour of Japanese izakayas (that’s a traditional bar that also serves informal food) Ramusake aims to combine the fusion foods and on-trend dining of Soho and Shoreditch with West London chic and just a hint of Hollywood noir.

Book a table for anytime after 6pm and let Hallsworth demonstrate exactly why he’s the man you'd always want in the kitchen with his Japanese specialties such as Beef fillet tataki with onion ponzu and garlic crisps, and Kombu roasted Chilean seabass with Spicy shiso ponzu.

If junk food is more your style, look no further than the "Junk Food Japan" section of the menu (preferably the Tuna sashimi pizza with wasabi tobiko and truffle ponzu).

Wash it all down with an array of cocktails and premium rums including British-made Duppy Share. Our order is the Shisho Daquiri, a Japanese take on the classic, made with Pampero Blanco and Heavenly Brew Honjozo.

With both food and drink available, there's really no excuse to head anywhere else, especially considering last orders are as late as 2am during the week and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.

92B Old Brompton Rd, London, SW7 5LR. Membership is £250 per year and includes complimentary entry after 11pm and first pick of table bookings. Call 0207 842 8518 for more information or email camilla@ramusake.comramusake.com.
