Since city restaurant M opened on Threadneedle Street last December, it has quickly become one of the area's destination hangouts.
Two restaurants, a cocktail bar, private dining rooms and a wine-tasting bar make up the 15,000 square foot venue, which is the first solo project of Gaucho's former Managing Director, Martin Williams.
It even features a line of ‘bottle lockers’ enabling guests who buy bottles of dark spirits to store and return to them at their own leisure.
What guests may not have been aware of is that the venue also features a secret bar – the invite-only Hennessy M Den – which specialises in dark cocktails and Cognac flights from its own dedicated bar and features a wide range of drinks and entertainment.
The secret den, limited to a maximum of 12 people, contains a variety of distractions to occupy guests, including Bang and Olufsen gadgets, a Bonzini football table, poker cards and an obligatory humidor.
The drinks menu is built around creative uses of Hennessy cognac – try the Viscount Chandos which mixes Hennessy Fine de cognac, Pinot Noir, Evangelista Ratafia, White Grapefruit, Whisky Bitter and Cinnamon Syrup.
Now all you need is an invitation.
