The cold, hard truth

The cold, hard truth

The landscape in Iceland is visible and vivid proof of the the extremes of geological action beneath the earth's surface. It's a fabric that's been ripped and torn, pock marked with crust and tumours, the colour and texture of its surface a product of the myriad volcanic minerals belched from the planet's interior. This extraordinary topography now provides the inspiration for an exhibition of stunning prints by landscape photographer Rupert Nightingale.

Formerly the picture editor and photo director for Mens Health magazine, Nightingale has explored the possibilities offered by large format photography. His faith in the slower, more contemplative approach to shooting is repaid in full in the painterly nature of these extraordinary images. For more, see www.rupertnightingalelandscapes.com
