1 | Don't Say Goodbye, Say Au Revoir: Joe Allen

This subterranean eatery is a theatre land institution in itself. Over the past 40 odd years, it has welcomed countless stars of stage and screen, not to mention greats of the food world, who all come to gorge on its gleefully American cuisine, which complements the New York counterpart on which it is based. But since Robert De Niro's fancy new hotel will be taking over its Covent Garden site, this beloved institution is shuffling round the corner instead – merely few yards down the street. So the good news is: you don't have to say goodbye to Joe Allen. The bad news is: you will be without it for the next month while they get the new one ready for you. The old doors will close on the 23rd July, so take this opportunity for a last not-so-secret burger, or those famously sticky ribs, before getting to grips with your new home away from home.

Until 23rd July: 13 Exeter Street, London, WC2E 7DT

From 21st August: 2 Burleigh Street, London WC2R 0JJ

What would a summer weekend be without a rosé festival? Yes, a whole weekend dedicated to the only wine to drink in the sun. Taking place at Hoxton's Geffrye Museum, this is the first of what will be an annual event, where you get to try over 30 types of pink wine with a host of experts and suppliers on-hand to guide you. As it is sponsored by Laurent Perrier, you could take the chance to try their achingly elegant Cuvee Roseé (a cocktail party staple), and they will also be hosting a masterclass with the Bob's Lobster guys, pairing glasses with those moreish lobster rolls. Other stomach fillers will be served by Bubbledogs and Italian meatball pros the Belpassi Bros. Up-and-coming DJs, jazz bands, opera companies and Shakespearean actors shall be keeping you amused in the background. Delightful.

Until 23rd July; tickets cost £15

3 | For Summery Evening Dinners: Señor Ceviche

The first Señor Ceviche is within the hub of Carnaby's Kingly Court. And they have finally opened a second branch, this time on the equally lively Charlotte Street. With tables spilling out onto the street, this couldn't be a better option for warm summer evenings, with its bright cocktails and flavour-packed sharing plates that centre around – you've guessed it – the zingiest of citrus-cured fish. Their signature ceviche contains sea bass and octopus in the deep but fresh spice of aji amarillo tiger's milk, with sweet potato puree, avocado, red onion and baby squid. Or there's the Nikkei ceviche, with yellowfin tuna and sea bass, plus a langoustine cracker on top (above). The textures in both are brilliant. Then chow down on something totally other, with the chewy and caramelised Pachamanca pork ribs, and don't miss out on the Fitzrovia special of charcoal grilled lamb. A succinct menu that doesn't allow you to go wrong.

Copenhagen pizzeria Mother has amassed a worldwide following and lucky for us, a London one is opening up this weekend – in the Battersea Power Station complex, no less. These guys do sourdough and seawater pizzas, which are baked in wood-fired ovens. Toppings tend to be local and just, well, really tasty. Furthermore, ahead of Sunday's official opening, there will be a big welcoming party on Saturday, where the team will be giving away 2000 pizzas, plus wine and beer – all for free. There will be live music, DJs and who knows what all day and night long. So get yourself down there for your weekend treat – they're under the first railway arch at Circus West Village.

5 | Monday Margaritas: Peyotito

This coming Monday is National Tequila Day, which you may as well take as license to extend your weekend and blast those miserable beginning-of-the-week vibes. Head to Notting Hill's Mexican restaurant, Peyotito, which is using Monday to kick off an entire month's worth of tequila-based fun using the super smooth variety created Mr George Clooney himself, and his mate Rande Gerber. If you're nervous about tequila (or simply a bit fragile from previous encounters) this is a really easy one to start off on: light, smooth and won't blast you with fumes. Peyotito's Margaritas (which are basically just ice and lime, let's be honest) come with a little bottle of the Casamigos Tequila on the side, in case you become brave enough for an extra shot. There is also a taco and tequila pairing menu throughout July, so let the fiesta continue.
