It’s Bastille Day, so raise a glass to the sans-culottes with our 14 July cocktail of choice, the Lillet Rouge Cup.We’d previously thought that Lillet’s sole use was in a 007-style Vesper martini, however the Rouge version — which is made from Bordeaux wines (85 per cent) and macerated liqueurs — mixes remarkably well with fruit and lemonade to make an excellent variation on Pimm’s. Vive la révolution!

Recipe: Take a jug, add 50ml of Lillet Rouge per person, throw in some chopped fruit and ice, top with lemonade and serve.
