If the length of the queue outside American bakery Outsider Tart is anything to go by, the bakery’s founders David Lesniak and David Muniz may be two of the most popular men in London. Having charmed locals with their all-American homemade cheesecakes and whoopee pies, the Davids have now expanded beyond baked goods and opened restaurant Blue Plate.
Blue Plate serves hardy, authentic American food, all accompanied by one of the most interesting selections of American craft beers and wines to be found in London. Offering everything from traditional breakfasts like Buttermilk Pancakes to more obscure American dinners, including the delicious Spoonbread – a spicy Southern take on Shepherd’s Pie – Blue Plate has something for everyone.
Alongside the already eclectic menu, the Davids are launching an ambitious plan of events for Saturday evenings at Blue Plate. Billed as “Route 66 – Around the States in 50 Dates” each Saturday night of the year will feature a different menu unique to each of the 50 states in turn. Don’t miss the first State Night on Saturday 22nd June, where diners will be served the best of Alabama’s indulgent cuisine.
With its varied menu and promised “American portions” of comfort food, you can now literally get your fill of Americana without travelling further than Chiswick.
