So you’ve already established a successful Mexican haunt in the heart of Soho. What next? Set up shop in Shoreditch of course. Working once more alongside New York designer Serge Becker (‘sex shop’ sign anyone?), restauranter Will Ricker has opened a second embodiment of La Bodega Negra - Casa Negra.
Acclaimed chef Brad McDonald, formerly of renowned Brooklyn restaurants Gran Electrica and Governor will be heading up the kitchen, producing sharing dishes such as Mexican seafood Mariscos (which include ceviches, coctèls, aguachiles and tostadas), lengua (ox tongue) and birria con consommé (chocolate and ancho chile rubbed lamb shoulder) tacos. A new signature dish is also on the menu - Carnitas de lechon - a suckling pig dish, which will include cuts from all parts of the pig along with salsas and traditional garnishes.
Alongside the timeless Margarita, made with Casa’s own house-made orange liqueur, sweetened with organic agave nectar, drink options will also consist of various tequila and mescal creations.
As for downstairs, the Casa Playroom will be providing live acts and cocktails until 2am.
