Morgan Meunier, the celebrated French chef and restaurateur, has long been acclaimed by discerning diners for his skillful and delicate French cooking. Having run a very successful restaurant on the Liverpool Road for ten years, he’s now set up shop in a new restaurant in Barbican, EC1.
The key to his new restaurant is the relaxed, no-reservation-required dining bar called the Kitchen Gallery, located on the lower ground floor. The new space has been designed to feel comfortable and spacious, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and an exposed wine cellar. The space - much like the menu – is stylish, modern and creative.
The Kitchen Gallery’s menu consists of “tasting dishes” designed for those who don’t have time to sit down for a full meal but want something light to fill the void.
A selection of the chef’s classic dishes are represented in reduced form, including ravioli of snails in Chablis, garlic froth and red wine jus, and Israeli couscous risotto and asparagus, all of which are cooked with Meunier’s trademark clarity of flavour.
It’s his style of French-inspired tapas. And, for those with time for something a little more indulgent, the full Spring Seasonal Menu is available upstairs in the main restaurant.
