Whether for work, the theatre or shopping purposes, a trip into the heart of London for many city dwellers probably pushes an hour, if not more.
How about if we said a trip to New York could potentially one day take half that time? 30 minutes to be exact...
Well, thanks to Canadian designer and engineer Charles Bombardier, this could very possibly become a reality thanks to supersonic jet The Skreemr.
Exactly how he plans to do this (are you ready?) is to launch his plane out of a magnetically-charged system at dizzying speed before using liquid oxygen to rise in velocity and altitude. When it's moving at the necessary rate, it'll compress incoming air for engine combustion.
In other words, it'll move bloody fast.
Forget Oxford Street: a daytrip to Times Square could soon become the more convenient option.
