At Esquire HQ, the hunt for the perfect pair of sports headphones may well be over.

BackBeat FIT, new from wearable tech company Plantronics, manage to cross off all our niggles with existing ‘active lifestyle’ headsets in one go.

Wireless, sweat-proof, reflective, ridiculously lightweight and with both a big battery life and packing a clever hibernation mode (no more opening your sports bag to find a dead battery after you’ve failed to switch them off after Sunday's run), they really win big on comfort and fit.

The headband is flexible but still really tough, while the earpieces come reinforced and stabilized, making these headphones feel like they’re effectively made from two different materials.

There’s also a reversible armband / carry case big enough to store phone, keys, change etc, where you can the phones away neatly post-workout. They sound pretty good, too.

Out May, £120, plantronics.com/uk
