Helping the environment can be tough sometimes. There's all that plastic bottle collecting, dispensing them into the right bin - it's a minefield. What if helping the environment was a simple as flicking a switch? Now it is.

Of course you can't flick just any switch. We're talking about the switch to this Paper Lamp, created by Milk Design Limited. Based in Hong Kong, Milk Design provide design services to other companies and sometimes create products under the brand name, Feel Good Home.

Their plan (or 'design solution' if you want to be arty) is to create products "fulfil the basic needs of our daily lives". They've done just that with this lamp.

Made from bamboo paper (hence the name 'paper lamp') and a solid wood, the lamp uses no screws or glue, using interlocking parts instead of the usual Ikea solution. No allen keys or  surprisingly fiddly instruction manuals here.

And it looks good, which helps a lot in the whole 'why we buy things' category.
