The Exhibition | Patrick Lichfield: Nudes

The Exhibition | Patrick Lichfield: Nudes

Cars and girls, cranes and girls, cheese and girls, but most importantly, girls.

Photographer Patrick Lichfield was known for taking shots of the Royal Family, but also did a rather nice sideline in nudes (though wisely he steered away from combining the two).

It’s the latter that a new London exhibition will celebrate with a selection of his finest images of women in comprehensive states of undress. Many were taken for the Unipart Calendars of the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties — Lichfield was working on a “best of” at the time of his death in 2005 — which may explain the preoccupation with motor vehicles and heavy machinery (though the cheese plate, below, remains a mystery).
