Is that thing loaded? Not likely. A new shooter that’s surprisingly stingy with bullets.
In I Am Alive, a mysterious worldwide cataclysmic event has wiped out most of the human race. Yes there’s probably no food, no clean water, and pretty crappy wi-fi, but for your purposes the main problem is: no more ammo. So while you make friends and enemies, pick up intel and generally try not to die horribly, you’ll also need to scratch around for whatever bits of metal/plastic/fluff you can lay your hands on (one option being a bow, with arrows salvaged from freshly skewered targets).
Developer Ubisoft says “because of the emphasis on extreme survival in I Am Alive, gameplay is tough and unforgiving”. For “tough and unforgiving” you can often read “stupidly hard”, but many of us get off on games where ammunition is scarce (Dead Space anyone?). It forces tactical thinking and stops macho run-and-gun monotony; the only thing you’ll definitely need to engage is your brain.
I Am Alive is out 7 March on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network
