Trickery

An airport is a bit of a magical place. It is where you get to consume IPAs at 7am like it's a totally normal thing to do, eat a Wetherspoons gourmet burger at 7.30 and jet off to anywhere in the world you desire.

OK, so you may not have even thought about that last one, because really, why would you - but once you think about it, you won't be able to un-see it the next time you're waiting in a terminal.

According to consulting company Intervistas, the airport curve is real - and it's there for a reason.

"More sales are generated if a walkway curves from right to left with more merchandise and space on the right side because passengers are looking right while (perhaps unconsciously) walking left," Mental Floss reports.

Basically, because most of us are right-handed, we instinctively will look to the right while we're walking to the left and probably buy more things.
