Forget taking pills or meditating - if you want to sleep better just eat a couple of kiwis instead.

Scientists have found that eating just two of the furry fruits an hour before hitting the hay will help you get to sleep faster and achieve deeper sleep.

The results are based on a 30-day study involving volunteers with sleep problems, reports the Mail Online.

The 24 participants were given various sleep aids by researchers at Taiwan Taipei Medical University and results showed that they slept 13% longer when they consumed the kiwis.

As well as this, the amount of time it took them to drift off decreased by an astounding 35%.

The study, published on the National Library of Medicine website, explains that it could be down to the antioxidants and serotonin found in the fruit that are beneficial for remedying sleep disorders.

Probably worth a try, isn't it.
